Artist's Comments

Finally done. Took about 50-60 hours. 12"x18" drawing paper. Regular, NON-MECHANICAL pencils; used mostly H, HB, and a 4B with some blending stumps. I really slowed down on this one. I tried to really recreate the Surrealism that Dali represented. I love all of his genius work and these are some of my favorite parts of some of his famous work.

I hope you enjoy it. I always find it kind of sad when I get done with a drawing. It's like the journey to get if finished is what is so meaningful and challenging....

Definitely download to see the full pencil detail of this piece.

"What do you think the artist thinks about? Do they think about fine wines or black tie affairs? No, they live for that narcotic moment of creative bliss. A moment that may come once a decade, or never at all." ~Art School Confidential~

That's incredible! This is gallery worthy. The kind of thing the keeps your interest and not just wall decoration. It has a strong pull to the right. A masterpiece!

:o It's finally done... It's wonderful! It really does flow together very, very well into its own new composition, and you can see all the incredible work you put into making the figures realistic. I love the way Dali looks here, a bit surreal himself and he looks like he's scrutinizing the picture.

Thank you very much! :blowkiss: I tried to make it a flowing circular moving composition. I hope it worked. I do like the way he looks like he's scrutinizing it. Excellent way of putting it!

Thanks, man. The horse was hard because I couldn't really read all the information on the copy I was looking off of. I'm glad it turned out okay.
